It has been documented here on GoBlackKnights.com on more than one occasion that there were high expectations for Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton High School coming into the 2012 season. Hamilton had 2011 campaign with a 13-1 record and the Arizona's 5A-DI runner-up were ranked No. 46 in the nation in the 2012 Preseason RivalsHigh 100. Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately for the Huskies, those loses served as a true wake-up call. The only question that remaining ... would Hamilton push the snooze alarm or actually wake up.

Well, the team went on a 12-0 run to push their season record to 12-2, which was sealed by a decisive 31-16 victory over Mountain Pointe for the Arizona 5A Championship. Not only it recognize Hamilton as the big dawg on the block, but it was payback to Mountain Pointe, who provided the Huskies their first lost of the season.

And for 2014 offensive line prospect Bryce Holland, the feeling of the championship, coupled with redemption could not be any sweeter.

"Yeah, we tried to do some damage against them (Mountain Pointe)," states Holland. "It (championship) was the greatest feeling ever. I mean 48 minutes for the rest of lives."

Presently, Holland's only offer and primary interest is coming from Army, although that appears to be changing as well. In addition to high interest from the Black Knights, Holland indicated that he has recently received letters from Mizzou, along with hearing from Utah and Michigan State.

"I heard from Army just last week, confirms Holland. "Coach Guyader (Andy) and I were trying to get in touch with other recently, but we were playing phone tag and didn't connect. Everything is going well with him ... nothing but positives."

Another one of the Black Knights' allies who is whispering in Holland's ear is 3-star offensive lineman Patrick Joseph. The 2013 Army commit is the teammate of 6-foot-3, 260 pound guard/center and would want nothing more than to team-up with Holland at the collegiate level.

"He is not necessarily trying to get me to commit, but he's just keeping me interested, keeping me looking .... just yesterday he said I know that's not going to be the last game we ever play together," says Holland as he chuckles at Joseph's words of affirmation, but yet embraces their close friendship that extends beyond the playing field.

Now that his 2012 football season has concluded, especially on a winning note, Holland knows that the standard at Hamilton, along with his own personal commitment to excellence has him looking ahead to 2013.

"I'll just start lifting again," he adds. "Last year, freshman and sophomore years I wrestled, but this year I'm going to focus more on lifting and getting ready for next year and maybe attend some camps this summer."

Another part of looking into 2013 includes what is unfolding for the junior offensive lineman prospect relative to visiting the various colleges that are showing him interest.

"I haven't officially scheduled any as of yet, but I will take a visit up to Army for sure, but I will probably take a couple of visits and I will be heading up to Utah," confirms Holland.
