Well, it's another new season. It is hard to believe that I am entering my eighth as the Head Coach at SCC. It seems as if every year I have new assistants and this year is no different. As most of you probably know Robb Floco one of my assistants last season is now an assistant basketball coach and assistant AD at Williston State College in ND. Robb and I have talked and he is excited about their team at Williston. Mark Owens was also an assistant for me last year and he took a graduate assistant position at Drake working with their Men's Basketball program. He is doing well and has been involved in a ton of stuff so far.

I am excited about my new staff and think that they will do a nice job for me. Padraig O'Brien "OB" is on my staff after talking about it off and on for the past five years or so. OB and I both went to Winona State and have known each other for a long time. He has coached several places and is very good at doing skill development work. August Parker is another addition to my staff. August is our strength training guy having spent the last six or so years working at a gym in Scottsdale. He played college basketball and football. The last member of my staff is Alex Lieberman. Alex was with us last year, but will have an expanded role. He was a student manager at Desert Mountain and is very willing to help out in any capacity that I need. Guys like that are invaluable.

I was happy with our performance in the Jamboree. We played a hard fought game against South Mountain who is very much improved. We snuck out a win in sudden death overtime on a put back. In our second game against Yavapai we played much more poised and within ourselves. We controlled the game most of the way.
