The STATE FORTY EIGHT Power 48 Rankings: 8/29/2016
Each week I'll release my top 48 teams in the state, regardless of division. The idea was inspired by the guys at STATE FORTY EIGHT, an Arizona-inspired clothing brand whose success has given Arizonans yet another thing to be proud of. There was a big shakeup at the top after Desert Ridge struggled to score against Norco out in California, and Mountain Pointe takes over as the #1 team in the state. Saguaro jumps up to #3 after back-to-back wins against out of state opponents, and for the second week in a row, the Mesquite Wildcats make a large jump in the rankings after starting the year on the outside looking in.
Chaparral makes the biggest drop, from #8 all the way to #36 after a loss to unranked Horizon. #25 Liberty drops out of the rankings altogether after losing to Boulder Creek.
Seven new teams debut on the SFE Power 48, with three teams jumping all the way into the top 40- Horizon at #33, Tucson at #37, Cienega at #40.
