We had a light practice today. We basically reviewed plays and how to break presses to get ready for Mountain View. They are our rival and no matter what, we always come to play against them. I had an essay due today and no tests. I can't stop thinking about the Mountain View game! I am going to be so ready!
Tuesday Jan. 11
As you know, we played Mountain View. We won by 10! Everyone was so psyched and you could tell in warm-ups that we were going to win. The best thing was beating them in their gym with a lot of our fans cheering for us. It was a very, very, very physical game. We started out slow. In the second quarter, we had a 22-1 run and it felt awesome going into half time. The second half was even more physical and harder but we held in there. All of our legs were dead tired but we didn't feel it at the end of the game!
Wednesday Jan. 12
I hurt so bad! You know how I said we didn't feel any pain after the game, well, I feel it now! It's a big thing when you beat Mountain View, so everyone in school was talking about it. My parents let me sleep in until third period. I missed a quiz in second hour so I made it up after school. Until practice, I did my homework and hung out in the locker room. Practice was medium hard. We were still excited but I was surprised on how focused everyone was for our game Friday.
Thursday Jan. 13
I had a test in science and I think I did well. I am not that interested in learning about nitrogen bases or amino acids so I can't wait until the next unit. In English, we met with the counselors and took a career choice test. It shows that I should work in a field where I could help others. I think I want to be a physical therapist or some kind of coach, so that should work out. Practice wasn't hard, but not easy. All of us made a sellout in 11 seconds! We play Westwood tomorrow so we worked on beating their zone and matching up with their offense. If we beat them, we would play Dobson for the number one spot in the region Tuesday!
Friday Jan. 14
We played Westwood and beat them by more than twenty. Before the game, we had a teacher appreciation ceremony and that went well. At first, we went head to head, but after half time, my team pulled away. It felt like I had an off game. I can't get out of shooting in the 20-25 point range. I had 23 points and 14 rebounds.
Saturday Jan. 15
I went to Stanford early in the morning to see a game. It was a lot of fun and I got to see the new renovation on Maples Pavilion. It was an amazing experience. I even met with some of the players and went in the locker room. Then, my family and I went to The Cheesecake Factory. It was extremely delicious. I had a Filet Mignon and strawberry cheesecake. I am going to visit many colleges over the summer and I plan on going to a lot of camps. I think Monday, Kansas State is coming and Friday Oregon is coming! This has been an overwhelming but great week!
Sunday Jan. 16
We got back from California. I'm glad there's no school tomorrow so I get to sleep in. I am looking forward to practice. We didn't have practice Saturday so it seems like I haven't played for a while. We all needed a day away from each other though. I hope we lift tomorrow. We have a big game against Dobson Tuesday. Both teams are undefeated in the region. I think that my team should start playing against boys. It would make us a lot better.
