Taylor Rohde
Pinnacle freshman Rohde is one of the top freshman prospects in the state. At 6-foot-7, 198-pounds, Rohde is currently averaging 10 minutes a game for Pinnacle High School and is first of the bench. This 14-man roster currently has 9 seniors and 4 juniors. He has played in 14 varsity games, 10 games against 4A competition (Wells Fargo Region) and 4 against 5A teams. He is averaging 4.1ppg, 5.6 rpg, and 1 bpg.
He has had two 13-rebound games against Payson on 12/10/04 and Westwood on 12/30/04. He scored a season high 10 points against Cactus on 01/18/05 and added 3 blocks. He is leading his team in field goal percentage at 68% for the season. Pinnacle has been ranked as high as No. 1 in 4A and won the Consolation Championship during the Gilbert Holiday Tip-off Tournament only losing to Mesquite in 5A.
Rohde is a good ball handler, especially for a young post player. He has a very skilled post game - and is fast becoming one of the best players in the post in Arizona. Rohde's game is very similar to Mountain View's Harper Kamp, but he is not as strong. Still only 14 years old, he will get a lot stronger within the next two years. He has a good jumper out to 15 feet and is very good in transition - will run with guards.
We will be profiling Rohde, and many other underclass players throughout Arizona during their high school careers.
