Impact Players
Perry 2023 DE Aiden Herring (6'3, 255)
I don't care what any rankings say, Aiden Herring is a Top-10 football player in the state of Arizona. Herring completely took over this game on Spring Valley's last drive, racking up sacks on back-to-back plays, to help seal a Pumas' victory. Herring finished the night with four sacks, and he did so by showing off a great combination of power and speed on every snap of the football. Herring has the best swim move out of any pass rusher in the state, and he's a technician when it comes to having violent hands in one-on-one situations with opposing tackles. Herring is a natural born leader who will without a doubt, be up for 6A Defensive Player of the Year when the season is over.
Perry 2023 RB Brock Ford (6'0, 180)
Ford showed power and toughness while carrying the rock for the Pumas on Friday night. Ford capped off a couple long drives the Pumas had offensively, bulldozing over defenders into the end zone for a pair of touchdown runs. He's a physical running back who runs with authority between the tackles. Great night for Ford.
Perry 2024 LB Bo Hall
Playing in his first game since a season ending knee injury last season, Bo Hall was an absolute rock at middle linebacker for the Pumas' defense. Hall did a tremendous job of filling the A-gap, as he met Spring Valley's RB head-on at the line of scrimmage numerous times and drove him back, running his feet through contact. I had an awesome postgame interview with Hall where he spoke about playing In his first game back from his injury, which you can see below in the Quotable section.
Who to Watch
Perry 2024 ATH Kolton Coleman (6'1, 180)
Kolton Coleman is a ball player. Coleman excelled on both sides of the ball, showing off speed and athleticism from both his defensive back and WR positions. Coleman snagged the game-winning interception as he ball hawked a deep 4th down pass with a minute left in the game, climbing the ladder to catch the football at it's highest point. Coleman is also a threat as a returner on special teams for the Pumas. The do-it-all athlete will be a major impact player for Perry this season.
